Privacy policy
Who we are. The Bahrain Retirement Planner is a free, independent, non-commercial tool that helps people in Bahrain understand their pension and plan for retirement.
What you type stays on your device
Your date of birth, work history, salaries and goals are processed only inside your browser to show your estimate. They are not sent to us or to anyone else, and we cannot see them. There are no accounts and no forms that submit your figures. Close or refresh the page and they are gone, unless you choose to keep them (below).
Exports (PDF and Excel) are created on your device and saved where you choose.
What your browser keeps
Your browser's local storage keeps three settings so the site remembers them: light or dark theme, language, and whether you have seen the guide. They contain no personal figures.
Remember on this device is off unless you tick it. When it is on, the figures you type are also kept in this browser's local storage, so they are filled in again next time. They stay on this device only and are never sent to us. Anyone using the same browser can see them, so leave it off on a shared device. Untick it or press Forget my data to delete them.
You can also clear everything in your browser settings. We use no cookies, no analytics and no ad tracking.
Who else is involved
- Hosting: our hosting provider receives your IP address and browser details when the page loads, as any website does, and keeps short-lived logs for security.
- Everything else (fonts, the Excel export library) is served from this site itself. No other company receives anything when you use the planner.
Your rights
The Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 30 of 2018) gives you rights over personal data held about you. This site holds none: your figures never leave your browser, and you can delete anything saved on your device yourself, with Forget my data or by clearing the site's data in your browser. If you have a concern, you may contact the Personal Data Protection Authority. For your actual SIO record, contact SIO.
Changes
If we ever add accounts, analytics or anything that sends data, we will update this policy before doing so and show the new date above.
Terms of use
Estimates, not advice
The planner gives estimates based on our reading of Bahrain's Social Insurance Law (Decree-Law No. 24 of 1976), the Government Pensions Law (Law No. 13 of 1975), the end-of-service rules for non-Bahrainis (Decision No. 109 of 2023) and related decisions, as published on sio.gov.bh in October 2026. Laws, decisions and SIO practice change, and your own record may differ from what you enter. Your actual pension or end-of-service pay is decided only by the Social Insurance Organization (SIO). Confirm with SIO before any decision about resigning, retiring or buying service.
We are not part of, or endorsed by, SIO or any government body.
Not financial advice
The "close the gap" figures are simple projections using assumptions you choose. They are not investment, tax or legal advice, and we are not licensed by the Central Bank of Bahrain to give it. Investments can lose value. Talk to a licensed adviser before investing.
Use of the site
The site is provided free and "as is". We work to keep it accurate but do not guarantee it is error-free or always available. To the extent Bahraini law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from decisions made using it. Do not misuse the site, attack it or copy it for commercial use without permission.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and its courts have jurisdiction. If the Arabic and English versions differ, the Arabic version prevails.
